A perfect combination of sweet and tart, Braeburn is as crisp as it is juicy. Red and yellow streaks paint a vibrant picture on a tarnished gold base. Known for its characteristic burst of flavor at the first bite, Braeburn also holds its shape when cooked, making it an ideal choice for pies and tarts.
Thought to be a cross of Granny Smith and Lady Hamilton, this fortuitous seedling was discovered in the hills near Motueka, New Zealand in 1952. It is named after Braeburn Orchard, the springboard of its entry into the commercial market.
