Organic Benefits

In addition to being the right choice for the environment, eating organic is the right choice for good health. Read more about the Top 12 Reasons to Go Organic.

Organic is now proven to have more antioxidant compounds linked to better health than regular food, and lower levels of toxic metals and pesticides, according to the most comprehensive scientific analysis to date. Read more about it here.

Steer Clear of Chemicals

Conventionally grown fruits and vegetables contain synthetic pesticide residues that can be harmful to your body, and even trigger changes in a child’s development. Organically grown produce does not contain synthetic pesticides.

Awe Sum Organics strongly disagrees with the use of the chemical Glyphosate, which is the main ingredient in the herbicide Roundup. Developed in 1970 by John Franz while working at Monsanto, Glyphosate is now sprayed on over one hundred sixty of our nation’s agriculture crops and in studies is shown to; damage liver cells, break down junctions in the gut wall leading to leaky gut syndrome, kill enzymes and disrupt gut flora, (leading to diseases of the digestive system and thereby impacting the rest of the body).

Scientists now link it to the staggering rise in Autism and many other chronic illnesses we face today. Recently, studies found extreme levels of Glyphosate in one third of the breast milk samples tested, which we believe to be severely toxic to our nation’s children.

Glyphosate use is currently growing at a rate of 20% per year, due in part to the growing number of genetically engineered crops resistant to the herbicide. Life begins with our soil. Killing beneficial micro-organisms in our soil and our gut flora is ultimately promoting disease.

Say NO to GMOs

Organic farmers are prohibited from planting genetically modified organisms (GMOs), so choosing organic foods is a good way to avoid these risks.

Maximize Minerals and Antioxidants

Organic crops grow in richer soils with higher biodiversity and more nutrients. Organic produce typically contains higher levels of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.
