Awe Sum Organics is dedicated to furthering global sustainability through organic, non-GMO agriculture. Since 1985, we have remained devoted to providing the best tasting, freshest organic fruit through authentic farming that respects our soil, our water and our planet. In partnership with our extraordinary growers, we strive to minimize our carbon footprint and keep soils healthy for future generations. Our guiding principle is integrity, both in our products and our business practices. We are committed to ensuring fair, sustainable returns for our family or growers, and improving the quality of life in our global community.
With over 35 years in the organic produce business, our experience and know how are second to none. We have been leaders of the organic produce movement from day one and helped guide its evolution into the mainstream marketplace.
Our Story
Today, Awe Sum Organics is the premiere off-season importer of organic grapes and organic kiwifruit in North America. A pioneer in organics, David Posner President, CEO and Founder of Awe Sum Organics, developed and implemented a method to grow organic table grapes in Peru, where there is no seasonal dormancy, to be able to harvest grapes for import into North America during the winter months. Including our grapes, we supply six commodities of imported and domestic organic, non-GMO fruit to retailers all across the US and Canada.
Awe Sum Organics has been ‘Totally Organic Since 1985’ and with over 35 years in the organic produce business, our experience and know how are second to none. We have been leaders of the organic produce movement from day one and have helped guide the evolution or organic produce into the mainstream marketplace.
“Awe Sum Organics is proud to offer Organic and Fair Trade USA Certified fruit because we feel it is important to give back to the local communities that are involved in growing, harvesting, packing, and shipping our Awe Sum Organic fruit. Since 2015,
through the sale of our Awe Sum Organic Fair Trade and Fair for Life Certified fruit, over $1.3 million US dollars have been collected by Awe Sum Organics and distributed back to the local communities where our organic fruit is produced,” said David Posner, President, CEO and Founder of Awe Sum Organics. “We are grateful that we are able to contribute to the local communities where our organic fruit is grown and packed by sending the Fair Trade premiums that we collect when we sell our organic Fair Trade certified and labeled fruit to our customers. We send these funds to committees elected by the local community members in Peru, Argentina, and Chile where our Organic and Fair Trade Certified farms are located. These committees direct the funds yearly to social programs that support community development projects such as education, infrastructure, and health care.
Awe Sum Organics is very selective about the fruit we offer. We work closely with our growers in the fertilization, pest control and other growing methods, as well as post-harvest activities such as packing, grading, and shipping to ensure that our fruit is truly organic and Awe Sum.
Where We're Headed
Even though organic produce is now more common, we believe that organics will keep on taking market share. We helped create and carve out the organic market. So, helping our organic growers, exporter partners, and customers thrive is personal for us. We keep our finger on the pulse in North America. We don’t have a crystal ball, but because we work so closely with our growers and customers that we’re able to make informed market projections.
For us, sustainability isn’t a marketing gimmick. It’s what we’ve always done. It’s a method of growing crops that ensures the future of our food systems.
