Organic Citrus

California's climate lends itself to citrus production. The fruit soaks up the summer sun and ripens in fall and winter, helping the citrus develop a deep colored peel and high levels of total soluble solids, resulting in a sweeter taste. To ensure a year-round supply, we source fruit from three different districts.

Our organic lemons are farmed in three California citrus growing districts. The bulk of them are harvested in the Central Valley.

Meyer lemons were originally native to China and are a cross between a citron and a mandarin/polemo hybrid. Their sweeter taste makes them a frequent choice for lemonade, fruit salads, and cocktails.

The Lisbon and Eureka varieties have stronger acidic values, giving them a more tart and bitter taste. Known as 'Four Seasons' varieties, they are harvested throughout the year. Used as flavoring in both sweet and savory dishes, they often accompany fish and poultry, and are popular as ingredients in baking and desserts.
